My own bed!
I arrived home a little late as the snow in London had
delayed my flight, but all of my bags arrived and I
drove up to Newcastle without any traffic delays. It
was great to finally get home and spend some time in
my own house. I have spent the week catching up with
friends and family and working my way through the
mountain of paperwork that has built up over the last
couple of months.
My accountant John came up for a couple of days, we
managed to work through my paperwork and fit in a game
of golf at Matfen. I was surprised how well the course
played, I was expecting it to be soaking wet after
last weeks snow. The weather has been very British,
some days I have seen all four seasons within an hour!
I have enjoyed eating some of my favourite foods that
aren't so readily available in America, nothing too
fancy it's more of the simple things, bacon sandwiches
and fish and chips. I have enjoyed spending time at my
friends house with their dogs, I'm not able to have a
dog with travelling so much so I enjoy being able to
play with theirs and I can give them back when I
leave.
I was still 7th reserve to get into Hilton Head on
Saturday afternoon so I decided not to travel as the
chance of getting into the tournament is low and I
believe an extra week at home will be more beneficial
to my play in the upcoming weeks and months. I spent
the weekend watching the Masters, I love BBC coverage
and the fact there are no adverts every five minutes.
