This week we played another TPC (Tournament Players Club) course, these are courses that are affiliated with the PGA Tour throughout America. It was a par 70 which was different as we usually play courses that are par 72. I played the back nine holes on Monday morning and then practised for most of the day. I played the front nine on Tuesday morning and practised again after some food.

I played good all week, I hit the ball really nice and the course wasn't overly long so I thought it could suit my game and play on my strength of accuracy rather than length. I have a new caddy called Kevin Smith who is from Macon in Georgia, he is really nice and is always upbeat, confident and chatty which suits me. I felt I needed a change to freshen things up on the course and I hope it has the desired effect on my game.

There were big crowds during the week with lots of cheers from all over the course which makes things so much more exciting for the players as well as the spectators. We were well looked after with valet parking, good clubhouse facilities and good food. There was a brand new purposely built driving range which made practice all the better. I played really well this week and managed to hole some putts for a change but as usual with golf I hit a couple of poor drives which cost me. I made plenty of birdies but too many rusty bogeys let me down. After a month off I was pretty happy with how I played and hope to continue with my good putting and hopefully straighten out the odd bad shots.

I spent most late afternoons in Chilli's a restaurant next to my hotel watching sport, on Monday we watched Tiger and Rocco in the play off and the rest of the week I watched the European football championships. Its a shame that England and none of the other home nations are playing but there has been plenty of good games to watch.

I changed my flight on Sunday to an earlier one, I was picked up in Detroit by a courtesy driver for the 70 mile drive to Grand Blanc and my hotel for the Buick Open. Hopefully this week will be a success and then I have Open qualifying across town on Monday morning.
