TPC Sugarloaf

After a relatively lazy week I was ready to get going this week. I went to the course to practice on Monday but ended up getting very little accomplished as the wind was blowing around 30 mph and it was cold. The locker room was nice and comfortable and the attendants were really friendly and welcoming. The drive into the golf course was impressive; some of the houses were fabulous, some of them were big enough to be the clubhouse!

I played on Tuesday morning, the front nine I played alone and then I joined Esteban Toledo and Cody Freeman on the back nine. I played well and liked the look and feel of the golf course. On Wednesday I spent most of the day doing a few errands and sitting patiently in queues.

For as much I thought I got lucky with the draw in Houston weather-wise, it couldn't have been worse on Thursday. The morning was perfect, but twenty minutes before I teed off the heavens opened. I played good but after five hours of torrential rain that soaked me, I shot four over and was glad when it was done, as I have never played in rain like that before.

I played really good on Friday, I hit lots of good shots, but again didn't take all my chances and missed a few putts but was happy to birdie the 18th to make the cut on the mark with a round of four under.

Saturday was a frustrating day but no damage was done with two birdies and two bogeys. My "mini-me" was happy enough and works well as a hat rest, my girlfriend bought me a Brutus headcover when I had my beard as she thought he looked like me!

On Sunday we played in threes and started with a U-draw as bad weather was forecast for 4pm, the winds picked up but luckily the rain stayed away. I started on the 10th and had three bogeys and two birdies on the front nine, I then made two more bogeys on the back nine before finishing strongly with two birdies to finish the day at one over par.

I went straight from the course to the airport where I am flying home for a couple of weeks. As I write this my flight is on time and I am sat waiting in the departures lounge
