20th December It was a nice two weeks in South Africa, away from the horrible weather at home and into the sunshine. I know this will sound silly but at times it was too hot, at times it reached 40's at Leopard Creek. Read More...
1st December I have enjoyed my couple of weeks at home, but I haven't been up to that much as the weather has been so bad. I did manage to get all of my Christmas shopping done so I won't have to worry about any last minute panic buys! Read More...
23rd November I flew to Singapore a couple of days earlier than normal as it was two days travelling and I wanted to have a couple of days to get used to the heat, it is five or six years since I was last there and I really had forgot just how oppressive the climate is, one of the days it was 35 degrees with 100% humidity! I stayed on Sentosa Island to the south of the mainland, in a nice room with a great view of the water overlooking one of the entrances to the port, which is one of the busiest in the world. One day we had visitors on the balcony, monkeys, they didn?t find anything on our balcony but they didn?t seem to like the cigarettes they found on one of the other balconies as they pulled them out and crushed them! 4th October I enjoyed a couple of weeks at home, I even managed a trip to London to watch Les Miserables as a birthday treat. It was amazing and now I can't wait until I get to see another show. Read More...
13th September Monday was spent practising my short game and hitting balls in the morning, I was working on a couple of things and enjoyed the opportunity to be on the range with only three other players as it was a small field of only 78 players this week it wasn't like normal where you can't get moved for another hundred guys, their caddies and coaches Read More...
9th August It was nice to be able to fly direct from Newcastle to Holland and to a course I like, I have only played at Kennemer G&CC once before but I really enjoyed the course and I always enjoy the KLM Open as everyone makes you feel so welcome. The weather was very hot at the start of the week but got a little cooler and windier as the week went on. Read More...
2nd August Monday was a long day as to get to Ostrava for the Czech Open I had to catch three flights but as last week it wasn't straight forward! My flight landed in Paris on time but after a long wait to get to the gate, made things a little tight for my next flight. When I got to the immigration hall there was a massive queue as there were only a couple of desks open as apparently there was a strike of some sort! After an hour of waiting patiently I got to the front on the queue only for the guy to wave me through without looking at my passport. With a further 20 minute walk to my gate I knew I had missed my connecting flight. I got rebooked onto a later flight which got me into Ostrava at 10.30pm, only to find out my baggage hadn't made it. After filing paperwork about my missing baggage I caught a car to the hotel which was around 30 minutes away and finally got to bed much later than planned. Read More...
27th July Last week in Sweden was a strange week, my caddy was called home tuesday for family business and I spent most of the rest of tuesday trying to sort out someone to loop for me. I got sorted early afternoon and headed out to play a practice round, the course was in good shape and was a real mix of holes, some tree lined, some heathland and even three links holes! The course is the longest that we play on tour playing at over 7600 yards, I'm not a fan of these hugely long courses as it tends to eliminate the need to hit different clubs off the tee and hit different shots into the green! 22nd July I am pleased to report another good week. I was exhausted after Open qualifying on Monday and Tuesday, so I had a lie in on Wednesday morning before going to the course to practice. Read More...
9th July The French Open was the good week I have been looking for, my good play and patience finally paid off with a 6th place finish Read More...
3rd July It was a much better week result wise in Munich, I made the cut at 3 under par and had a level par weekend. I made a lot of birdies during the tournament but a couple of treble bogeys punished me severely, but it is a good sign to be making so many birdies. Read More...
17th May Spain and Italy were a little disappointing, but I played very well last week but was slightly unlucky to be on the wrong side of the draw, especially on Friday morning. Read More...
5th April I am back home after two weeks away, there were some promising signs but no result from the two tournaments in Spain and Portugal. The weather in Portugal was very windy and made for a hard couple of days and was more like playing at home, not the sunshine and calm weather you expect. Read More...
20th March I went to the Marie Curie masked ball last weekend, the evening was great. I got to meet Escala the electric string quartet who caused a stir when they got to the finals of ITV's Britain's Got Talent and Paul Pashley a jazz and swing singer who performed with a fantastic band. All at Marie Curie worked really hard to make the night a success and I hope they managed to raise their target amount. Don't forget it is their Great Daffodil Appeal this month, so if you see a seller out and about try and support them and wear your daffodil with pride as I do. Read More...
5th March The daffodil is the emblem of Marie Curie Cancer Care. 3rd February It was great to get back out on the European Tour and catch up with everyone, and to hear what had been going on, I hadn't realised it was 15 months since I had last played in Europe. Read More...

5th January I havent been up to much as the weather has been so bad, but I have been forcing myself out to practice and have had a few lessons with my coach, John. It's amazing that even when you feel like you are playing well the same old habits creep back in. I haven't been working on anything major, just the same recurring faults. Read More...
