I went to the Marie Curie masked ball last weekend, the evening was great. I got to meet Escala the electric string quartet who caused a stir when they got to the finals of ITV's Britain's Got Talent and Paul Pashley a jazz and swing singer who performed with a fantastic band. All at Marie Curie worked really hard to make the night a success and I hope they managed to raise their target amount. Don't forget it is their Great Daffodil Appeal this month, so if you see a seller out and about try and support them and wear your daffodil with pride as I do.
I played at Sunningdale in their annual foursome's tournament. You can have any combination of man or woman, amateur or professional and you play under a special handicap system. I played a practice round on Monday morning and couldn't believe how good the weather was, spring had certainly arrived. I had my old friend and caddy Guy working for me this week, we worked together when I won the Spanish Open in 2003. Gary his twin brother who worked for me at the US Open at Winged Foot caddied for Lisa. We won our first three matches but were disappointed to lose in the fourth round.
I drove home on Thursday night and spent Friday sorting out paperwork and arranging things for the next couple of weeks. As it was Mother's Day on Sunday, I spent the day with my Mam.
The plan was to use Sunningdale as a warm up before my season restarted, I am pleased how the week went and am looking forward to playing in Seville this week.
