It was a much better week result wise in Munich, I made the cut at 3 under par and had a level par weekend. I made a lot of birdies during the tournament but a couple of treble bogeys punished me severely, but it is a good sign to be making so many birdies. The course was wet and we played preferred lies all week as the rain had been so heavy, it was boggy in parts where the spectators had to walk and there wasn't a clean shoe to be seen. The course was in good condition and was enjoyable to play.
I had some good pairings during the week and enjoyed the company of my playing partners and their caddies. Scott Strange and Gary Orr were particularly good company on Thursday and Friday. I played with Monty on Saturday, he had a great hole in one on the 8th hole, but sadly for him the car was only for a hole in one on the 17th. As soon as he hit it, the ball looked like it was going in, that was his 9th hole in one on tour.
I was pleased to see Nick Dougherty win, he has had a difficult time in the last year and I understand how he has been feeling, it is nice to see him get a good result and I know his Mum will be very proud of him.
There are a couple of busy weeks coming up for me, I am in Paris this week and I have Open qualifying next Monday and Tuesday at Kilmarnock - Brassie in Troon, before Loch Lomond. Lets hope I get on a good run and make the most of the good events coming up.
