It makes a nice change to play an old fashioned golf course rather than the resort styles that seem to be taking over. The greens at Quail Hollow are hard and fast, and it has the look and feel of a US Open course. There were big crowds all week, I signed lots of autographs and there were masses of children watching, which is always a nice to see.

I received lots of comments about my Marie Curie Daffodil on my hat, I'm not sure that most people understand what it represents, but I guess not too many 6'4' men walk around with a flower on their hat!

I have heard great things about this being the best tournament of the year and it's hard to disagree. The car pick up was smooth and was for a nice Mercedes Benz and we had valet car parking at the course. The players had access to an old comfortable locker room with lots of TVs and couches and they served great food throughout the week.

There was a Tornado warning on Monday until lunch time, so I sat around waiting for the weather to clear and spent the afternoon putting trying to gain some consistency as I thought this would be important on the tough greens.

I played a practice round on Tuesday with Mattias Gronberg and Alex Cejka, I didn't hit the ball very good but really liked the look and feel of the course, which sometimes is more important than how you hit it. I sat and watched the Man United game in the caddy lounge with all of the English caddies, it was just like being at home, with plenty of banter. On Wednesday I putted all afternoon and then watched Chelsea win. I think its great for English football to have an all English final.

I played with Kyle Thompson and James Driscoll on Thursday and Friday. We played early on Thursday, I got off to a good start with three birdies and three bogeys for a round of level par. I had a long wait before I played on Friday as I didn't play until after 2pm. A similar day of four birdes and four bogeys for another level par round, again I played well to have so many birdies but I need to eliminate some of the bogeys.

I made the cut but as more than seventy players had qualified for the weekend there was another cut after Saturdays round, unfortunately I didn't play that well and didn't get to play on Sunday.

I had a quiet day on Sunday making plans for next week, as I'm not playing at TPC Sawgrass
