I arrived in Sweden on Monday and headed to play a practice round on Tuesday morning. The golf course is quite new and is set on a beautiful bit of land with some holes being played in trees and some along the shoreline of a huge lake. The course was good but too long, from the back tees it is over 8,000 yards and with the wind that seemed to blow everyday made it a bit silly. We ended up playing off some forward tees but at 7,500 yards and greens with some ridiculous slopes on them it was still a bit debatable at times whether it was fair or not! It seemed like everyday I got off to bad starts and managed to get it back to a decent score, I had three late bogeys on Sunday which wasnt great but with a lengthy delay on the last day I was just glad to be able to make my flight back to London where I spent the night.

Ireland was a strange week, I spent Monday traveling to Kilarney and didn't feel great. We had a two hour bus journey from Cork airport and I was glad to get into my hotel room. I had never been to Kilarney before but what a beautiful place it is. I didn't play very well in the first round and shot 77, after some room service I went to bed ready for an early start but only managed to get an hour of sleep. I was up all night with an upset stomach and didn't feel like I could play the next morning as I felt drained. I withdrew from the tournament and managed to catch a flight home on Friday night which was very disappointing.

I enjoyed a couple of weeks off watching the WGC and USPGA, it really does give me a buzz and a kick up the backside to work hard on my game, as it was only a couple of years ago I was playing those events. I had a few games of golf in the two weeks and am happy with how I'm hitting it. It'll be nice to get back out playing next week at the Czech Open and then onto Gleneagles, the end of the season is getting near so a good end to the year will be nice.

If you check out my sponsors page you'll notice a new edition, Fentimans. They are a local botanical brewery company based in Hexham that have a very rich history, dating back to 1905. If you looked closely enough at the new home page picture you'd have seen the logo on my bag. Everyone has different tastes but my favouite flavour is Curiosity Cola but they're all definitely worth a try.

My wife Lisa signed up to do the Great North Run later this year in September. The money she raises will go to Marie Curie Cancer Care, which as I'm sure you know I'm an ambassador for. Anyone interested in supporting her and the charity can donate money via the link below.
