Here are a sample of the questions that have been sent to Ken:
Q: Hi Kenny, I also go for coaching off John Harrison, I was wondering how old you were when you played off scratch? Michael
KF: Hi Michael, I was fifteen years old when I reduced my handicap to scratch.
Q: Ken, I'm hoping to go out to America in September to a golf college, but I'm finding it hard to motivate myself whilst practising. I'm going to Desert Springs in a couple of weeks with the county for a weeks practising and just wondered if you had any tips on how to practise effectively? Matt
KF: Hi Matt, I'm not a great one for practising long hours I prefer to play on the course to get my game in shape. If you are struggling to keep your concentration while practising I would suggest practising with someone else and to play games, this way it will be fun and constructive practice. Remember a short focused session is better than a long distracted one, hope this helps.
Q: Ken, I see you like football, but what else do you like to do on your time off from golf? Craig
KF: Craig, I enjoy being home in Newcastle when I'm not playing tournaments, it is nice to spend some time at home and sleep in my own bed! I like catching up with friends and going to the cinema.
Q: How old were you when you decided you wanted to become a Pro golfer? Mark
KF: Mark, Its all I can ever remember wanting to do, I was probably eleven or twelve when I really thought about it, obviously the better I became the more realistic it seemed to try.
Q: How often do you see your coach, does he travel on tour with you?Chris
KF: Chris, I usually see my coach John Harrison once every 2-3 weeks at Matfen Hall, but this varies depending on how long I am away travelling for my tournaments as he doesn't travel on tour with me every week.
Q: Hello, I am looking for an opportunity to caddy on tour, I was wondering if I could caddie for you in any events in the USA. Such as the US OPEN, MASTERS TOURNAMENT, US PGA CHAMPIONSHIP or the WGC Championship. I'm nice, reliable, experienced, and fantastic personality. I have good course management and able to read putts. Also I'm a great golfer, I carry a 6 handicap. Thank you and Good Luck this year, Devon
KF: Hello Devon, thanks for your enquiry, but I have my regular caddy Davey and hope to be working with him for a long time.
Q: I was at Wentworth and saw you using a gadget on the putting green, what is it and what is it for? Lynsey
KF: Lynsey, the gadget is called a Putting Arc and it helps you to repeat the same stroke to engrain muscle memory. There are a number of similar training aids and many of the Pro's on tour use them.
Q: Do you have a lucky ball mark? Neil
KF: Neil, I have a 1999 £2 coin that I have used since 2003, I had a silver dollar before that but I lost it.
Q: Did you enjoy playing with Tiger at the US Open? Sam
KF: Hi Sam, I enjoyed playing with Tiger, he is a real gentleman on the course and is fun to play with. Any time you get the opportunity to play with him is a thrill.
Q: I have just started playing golf and was wondering what I should do to improve quickly? Sarah
KF: Hello Sarah, the best thing you can do is to get some lessons with your local Pro and practice what they tell you. It's better to learn things correctly than have to try and fix things later. Good luck and enjoy
Good luck messages.
Ken, Had a £5 on you at 500/1 for the US Open. Just think that's your type of course. Best Wishes, Eddy
Hi Kenny, Thanks so much for playing with me today it was a good day. Good luck for next week, Ryan
Congratulations on your game in the US There are some big names that didn't make the cut. You will get there I have no doubt and you have certainly given me a lot of pleasure following your game. Stick with it. Enjoy yourself. All the best I look forward to your next tournament, Alastair
