John is the Director of Golf at Matfen Hall and spends his time teaching. He spent a number of years playing on various tours around the world including the European tour. John coaches a number of county teams and is the EGU Northern coach. He is well known for his cheery personality and friendly approach to all. When he isn't working John spends time with his family and is a Middlesbrough FC fan.

John started working with Ken at EGU Regional coaching when Ken was thirteen years old. They have worked together ever since. John acts as a mentor and is now one of Kens closest friends and confidantes.

John says: "Ken showed a lot of natural talent as a kid and I've enjoyed working with him over the years. What he's achieved over the last few years is not a surprise to me and I expect lots more to come in the future".

Ken says: "I have a great deal of faith and trust in John. He has been very involved in my career especially since I turned Pro, a lot of what I have achieved I owe to him. Over the years he has become a close personal friend of mine. I have worked with him for fifteen years and am sure there will be another fifteen".
