Home Coming
I left Hawaii thoroughly disappointed that I hadn't
been able to play over the weekend due to my bout of
food poisoning, it just goes to show that you can do
all the right things, be in a great position and you
are still reliant on outside factors.
I travelled home to Newcastle for a family gathering
and spent the few days I was home trying to work out
what day and time it was, all sleeping tablets managed
to achieve was make my eye lids heavy! On a positive
note what a week to be in Newcastle, the city has been
uplifted by the return of Kevin Keegan. I always try
to tell people what it means to be a Geordie and how
proud we are of our heritage. This is something that
Kevin Keegan totally understands as he was a player
and manager at the club and in my eyes, the right man
for the job, to bring what we all want, passion and
success. Another recent signing has been for the
Newcastle United Women's team, they have just made
their Captain Mel Reay assistant manager, she will now
split her duties between on and off the field.
I flew back out to Los Angeles on Sunday and drove
down to San Diego first thing Monday morning to
prepare for the Buick tournament. I am still unsure
as to whether I will be playing this week as my
qualifying position from Q-school determines my entry
for the California swing, I am 1st reserve at the
moment but hopefully will be in the field come
Thursday morning. It is a different position to be in
as in Europe my exemption allows me to pick and choose
my events, hopefully when I do get to play I can
perform well and improve my ranking position which
will allow me to get into more events.
Again thank you for all the messages of concern and
support, hopefully you will be able to write some more
cheerful messages in the future
